Elder David Algood, born on August 26, 1969, is a native of Sulphur Springs, Texas where he graduated from Sulphur Springs High School. He attended Jarvis Christian  College, majoring in Mathematics, emphasizing Education. He also attended Texas A&M University, obtaining a Master of Science Degree in Education Administration.  He is the son of Superintendent Milton Algood. and Missionary Katherine Algood of Palestine, Texas.

At the age of seven, Elder Algood invited Christ into his life under the pastorate of his father. At the age of twelve, he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit under the pastorate of Bishop William James at James Temple Church of God in Christ in Cincinnati, Ohio.

It was also under his father's leadership that Elder Algood acknowledged his call to the ministry in 1989. After a three day consecration in September 1989, he preached his first sermon. For two years, Elder Algood trained as a licensed minister of the gospel. He was ordained in July of 1991, under the leadership of  Bishop David R. Houston. Since that day, Elder Algood has served faithfully in the church as Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Supt., Chief Adjutant to Bishop D.R. Houston, and District Choir President.  Elder Algood has pastored the New Life Church of Pittsburgh, Texas and The Lord's Way Church of  Sulphur Springs, Texas.

For fifteen years, Elder Algood's professional endeavors were in education, banking and retail operations. His most recent employment is with  Lifestyle School as a Math Teacher.

As a member of Texas South Central Jurisdiction, he has served as District Sunday School Superintendent of the Fair Banks  District and State Sunday School Superintendent. Elder David Algood has been married to Trishana Algood for Eleven years and they currently have two children, David Pierre and Trishana Paris.
